Indian-American Richard Rahul Verma Nominated As New US Ambassador To India
Indian-American
Richard Rahul Verma has been nominated as the next US delegate to India
by President Barack Obama. Richard Rahul Verma, who previously held the
designation of Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs
assisting Hilary Clinton and currently taking care of the private sector
would be the first Indian-American to be declared as New Delhi’s top US
ambassador and the second Indian-American to be declared for a task
related to India. Nisha Desai Biswal, who is the present Assistant
Secretary of State for the South and Central Asian Affairs of Gujarati
origin is the first Indian-American who was appointed as the head of
South Asia Bureau in November, 2013.
Adil Zainulbhai Appointed As QCI new Chairman
Former
McKinsey India Chairman ‘Adil Zainulbhai’ has been appointed as the
Chairman of Quality Council of India (QCI) for a 3-year term. An
autonomous body under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion,
QCI is a joint creation by Indian industry to operate the National
Accreditation Structure for conformity assessment bodies and provide
accreditation in the field of education, health and quality promotion.
